There is a common saying that goes “Be careful what you pray for.” The warning is that God may just give you what you are praying for but in a way that you don’t want. I have found this to be true in my life, so I have compiled a list of things to NOT pray for. Here goes:

Don’t pray for:

Patience unless you want to wait a long time or enjoy limbo land

Peace unless you want turmoil and chaos

Faith unless you want your life to be totally out of your control

Wisdom unless you like being schooled by difficult trials

Love unless you want to be with mean, nasty, unloveable people

Assurance unless you enjoy uncertainty

Joy unless you want God to take away everything you hold dear and replace it only with Himself
