Owner of a Broken Heart
A Life with Congenital Heart Disease

Welcome to My Site.
For many years, I have wanted to change the lyrics to "Owner of a Lonely Heart" by Yes, switching the words broken and lonely in the chorus. For me, being the owner of a broken heart is much better than being the owner of a lonely heart. This site is about my life and how my heart has learned to soar even though my body cannot run, dance, or sustain the energy needed for a "normal" life. That happened because of Jesus.
Glad you asked! Congenital heart disease is a term used for a variety of abnormalities of the heart present at birth. Those abnormalities can be anything from mild to life threatening. My heart defect is called Tetrology of Fallot--four (tetra) defects first described by Dr Fallot. It is the most common defect and it is considered to be a moderately severe defect. Here are sites where you can get information.

My Journey
Then and now
My journey with God has been one of switchbacks, hills and valleys, long lonely roads, and getting lost. This is a collection of things I have written along the way through tough times (The Dark Road), times of growth (The Search), and times when I truly see Jesus (Finding Home). My hope and my prayer is that my experiences will help you on your journey.
I was one way and now I am completely different. And the thing that happened in between was Him.
